Be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others. 2 Timothy 2:1-2 (NLT)
Cross Pointe's Communications Ministry is tasked with the stewardship of information for the church--not just creating bulletins and web pages, but helping members and guests know what God is doing in and among our faith family, and helping them to connect to the church, to one another and to their world.
> Cross Pointe Communications Resources
Communications Ministry encompasses a broad range of talents and skills. We prayerfully seek to identify, train and equip people in our church with talents in these artistic and technological areas to serve Christ and His Church through Communications. As you serve, you'll have a part in making a tangible difference for Christ locally and globally.
Graphic Arts
Use your talents and skills as a graphic artist in the design of printed media, displays, logos, video media and other creative elements. Some experience with design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) will be helpful. Graphic artists must provide their own computer, and most often work from home.
Office Volunteer
From running copies to assembling packets and guest information, distributing press releases to working on campus displays and signage--there's always a full plate of needs that Office Volunteers play a vital role in filling. Training by our staff on office equipment is provided.
Photography
The right photograph can communicate in ways that words simply cannot. Photography Volunteers not only help with the creative content of various media pieces, but also document Cross Pointe’s ministries locally and globally. Photographers must provide their own digital camera.
Online (Web) Team
The church’s website is the communications “hub” for the church. Online Team Volunteers not only create and update website content, but help in the many technical aspects of making the site interactive, functional and innovative.
Information Technologies (IT) Team
Computers are vital in many aspects of North American life and culture. Our Information Technologies Volunteers help us use technology to accomplish our church’s mission—while at the same time safeguarding our vital files and data, and providing on-campus and remote access to information as needed. Experience and knowledge of networking hardware and software is helpful.
Writers
By far the way in which we communicate most readily--from promotional materials to original Bible study content--is via the written word. Writing is a crucial skill for ministry, and our Writing Volunteers help not only produce compelling promotional text, but solid and scriptural teaching materials as well. Good writing skills necessary.
