At Cross Pointe we realize parenting can be one of the most rewarding and adventurous times in life as well as one of the most overwhelming times. It is our desire to help encourage and equip you to be Godly parents through this journey. By being a part of this dedication you are committing to do your best to model Christ in your home. You are saying you will raise your child in a way that leads him to God so ultimately they will understand their need for salvation.
Parent-Child Dedication is highlighted by an intimate time with family and friends as you join in prayer and witnessing of covenant.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Parent-Child Dedication and infant baptism? At Cross Pointe, we believe that baptism is something done only after the person has made a conscious choice to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. Dedication is a way for parents to publicly commit to raise their child(ren) in a Christian atmosphere.
How does the ceremony work? This will be explained at the parent meeting scheduled the Sunday prior to the event at 9:45 a.m.
How many people can I invite? It is hard for us to put a number limit on this special event because family size varies so widely. We want you to feel free to invite grandparents, aunts and uncles, and other special people, but with the number of families participating in this Parent-Child Dedication, space is somewhat limited. Every family will have their own table that seats 10 people. We will have limited overflow seating. If you know there will be more than 10 in your party you must notify the preschool office to receive more invitations and reserve seating. This will enable us to plan appropriately.
I cannot attend the parent meeting what should I do? Do both parents need to attend the meeting? The parent meeting is very brief (approximately 20 minutes) but very important. At least one parent is required to attend.
What is the photo used for? Does it have to be professional? Will I get it back? May I e-mail the photo? We put the photo on the certificate you will receive during the ceremony. The picture does not have to be professional, many people use candid photographs. We do prefer it to be larger than wallet size (4x6 is best). The photo will be returned to you. The photo can be a hard copy or e-mailed to myoung@mycrosspointe.com. We must receive your photo two weeks prior to the event.
How long does the dedication last? The ceremony itself is rather short, 30-40 minutes. However, there is a reception immediately following the service. Most families stay 30-45 minutes.
What is the age limit on Parent-Child Dedication? Typically, children aged newborn to toddler.
What should we wear? As with most events at Cross Pointe, there is no set dress code. Most of our families, however, do tend to dress up a bit more than they would for Sunday service. Please feel free to wear whatever you wish.
